1.) Affirm: For most of my paper I am agreeing with what Alexander, Williams and Brandt say in their paper. My peers suggested I add more evidence in concerns to my argument/claim.
The evidence I have so far in my draft are primarily the ideas of Alexander (Outcast, Victim and Success narratives), and Williams idea about identity shifting. I hope to include more on these topics as well as Brandt’s idea about sponsorship and how the different types can effect a students life (either negative or positive) resulting in an outcast/victim narrative that develops into a success narrative. I have yet to add literacy narratives to support my claim.
2.) Intro: my peers thought my introduction was good but needed more evidence to back up the claim I was making, especially from Alexander. I am working to add more information from all texts as stated above – identity shifting from Williams and Sponsorship for Brant.
3.) Evidence: I think I have a good basis for the talking points I want to discuss in my paper. I do need more evidence for the scholarly sources so I will be sure to add more. I intend on adding the descriptions of the different types of literacy narratives I am interested in from Alexanders article. Also I would like to add a little more information from Williams text on Identity shifting and talk about the different examples he talks about in his work.
