One of my favorite writing assignments was assigned to me by my freshman year highschool teacher. The assignment was to research a career of interest. Some of the details of the assignment included, figuring out the duration of schooling for the career of interest, what you have to maintain for a GPA, how many schools have what you are interested in, etc. At the end of our research piece of the paper we had to interview or contact a professional in the career path of our choice and ask them about their experience during school as well as their everyday experiences.

The career I chose to write about in my paper was Veterinarians. Luckily, becoming a veterinarian has always been a dream of mine. So being able to get a head start on exploring the different universities that had those studies as an option and other research that would help my chances of becoming a vet was really helpful. My favorite part of the whole assignment was contacting my local vets office to talk to one of the doctors there. The vet that I talked to was very helpful and supportive in the process, making the essay that much more enjoyable to write.
